Vehicles in German City Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities stated they were notified by a man who found a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.

Officers report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish substance.

The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.

Police then located numerous other vandalized cars and house walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials state preliminary tests suggest the fluid was most likely human blood.

"Currently there is no indication as to where it came from; officials are presently not informed of any injuries in connection with the event," they commented.

Local authorities announced they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have asked to the public for details.

An important representative said the vandalism made him without words and had to be solved promptly.

"This event affects the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing attack in 2020," he posted on online, referring to the death of nine people by a gunman aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
